UV Performing Arts studio reopening health and safety measures

At UV Performing Arts, the health and safety of our students and families is our top priority.  We continue to offer a virtual dance classes and event during these ever-changing circumstances.  As schools open, extensive health and safety measures are being taken with new studio guidelines to provide all of our students with safe class experience. We are strictly following the CDC’s recommendations and adjusting operations to keep you and our team members safe and healthy.

COVID-19 Updates

Your health and safety are always our number one priority.  Please see our guidelines for COVID-19 safety below.


Due to the high transmissibility of COVID variants currently spreading in King County, we are currently requiring proof of vaccination for entry starting October 25, 2021. 


Children ages 5-11 are eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine. However, the local Health Order for verification of vaccination continues to apply to people ages 12 and older in King County.


Facial covering is required for everyone ages 5 and up.



  • Show a UV Performing Arts team member CDC proof of vaccination. You may also email proof of vaccination to info@uvperformingarts.com at any time prior to entering UV Performing Arts studio.

*Please scan with your phone camera the QR code below for uploading your proof of vaccination / PCR COVID-19 negative test result.

  • This policy includes UV Performing Arts classes (Tuesday Open Style, Friday UVPA Jr. Dance and Saturday Contemporary Jazz I) and UV DANCE SQUAD classes and any visitors entering to UV Performing Arts studio.
  • Instructors will not be providing hands on assist at this time.
  • Please pre-register and pay for class online, this will ensure you get a space in class.
  • Please sanitize or wash your hands upon arrival. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the studio.
  • Thorough cleaning will take place before every class.
  • If you feel unwell or have been in contact with anyone who is showing symptoms of has recently tested positive for COVID-19, please stay home.  If you feel unsafe or unwell, please email us at info@uvperformingarts.com as soon as you can.

Good Health Verification

When booking in-person dance classes, student will be required to affirm at time of booking, that you are in good health and have not been in contact with anyone experiencing symptoms of COVID-19 as detailed by the CDC.  Please check our updated Terms and Conditions to acknowledge your participation in-person is welcomed as long as you are healthy and observing our new studio policies and social distancing protocols.

Reduced Studio Class Size

Our studio will reduce class sizes to guarantee a minimum of 6 feet of personal distance between members.


Everyone inside the building is required to wear masks at all times.


Hands Off Corrections

For your safety, our teachers will coach you on your form using verbal cues and demonstration, instead of using any hands on corrections.

Equipment Modifications

To ensure your safety, we will be limiting our equipment and staging it for you.  Sanitized ballet barre and hand weights will be set up at your designated station to be used in class, and should be left in place for teacher to collect and sanitize after class.  Please leave your personal equipment at home. Yoga mats, towels and water bottles are permitted.

Studio Sanitization

Classes will be spaced at a minimum of 15 minutes apart to allow for UV Performing Arts to sanitize studio and equipment.

Safe way to dance together!

  • After entering through the studio, take your shoes off and put into shoes bag or plastic bag.  Take your shoes with you to enter the studio.
  • At the front desk, completing the temperature check.
  • You will notice smaller class sizes for a while, as well as increased spacing within studios to allow for appropriate and safe distancing. Thank you for remaining in your personal dance zone during the time you are in the studio!
  • The wearing of facial mask is required.
  • Store your bag and shoes inside your dance zone during your class.
  • To support social distancing goals, dressing rooms, studio equipment and snack bar will not be available during this time.
  1. Enter the studio dressed in dance cloth.
  2. Bring your drinking water and yoga mat.
  3. Use hand sanitizer after touching your face and using the bathroom.

Domestic Travel During COVID-19

CDC recommends delaying travel until you are fully vaccinated because travel increases your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19. If you are not fully vaccinated and must travel, please follow CDC's recommendations for unvaccinated people.

This guidance applies to travel within the United States and U.S. territories.
